Who I Am & Who You Are

Who is your favorite character of all time?

Some years back I got into a show called “Drop Dead Diva” on the Lifetime Movie Network. The show is about a “beautiful” model, Deb, who dies in a car accident and her spirit ends up in the body of a plus-sized attorney. That attorney’s name is Jane (Brooke Elliott). I would have to say that over the past couple of years I have really become very fond of Jane (who is actually the “beautiful” model on the inside) because I can really relate to her. She is bubbly, vibrant, honest, successful and the fact that she’s plus-sized, like myself, makes me like her all the more.

I love that there is this “beautiful” model  girl learning to live inside the body of a woman that she would never have thought to be, especially physically. Deb learns to love who she is and eventually becomes very confident in her own skin.

I know that I am beautiful on the inside but I don’t always feel beautiful on the outside. Loving my outside self is a daily battle for me. Accepting who I am is not always easy but Jane’s (Deb) character inspires me to love myself for who I am. I am beautiful, I am successful, I am funny, I am smart and I am the daughter of a living God, the daughter of King.
