Try It Out Thursday: Slow Cooker Apple Butter

Try it Out Thursday

Try It Out Thursday is dedicated to recipes, products or ideas that I find on Pinterest or receive in my e-mail. I tend to “pin” and save a lot of recipes and craft ideas and never try them so I decided that this will help me wade through the many pins and e-mails that I have.

I have been wanting homemade apple butter since the second I found out that I could make it at home. I wasn’t exactly sure how to go about it but I knew that if I searched in Pinterest that I would find a way to make it. With it being Pastor Appreciation Month I thought it would be a great food gift to give to my pastors.

I came across My Baking Addiction‘s Slow Cooker Apple Butter. This recipe called for 6 1/2 pounds of apples but I didn’t need THAT MUCH apple butter. I cut the recipe in half and it made enough for 6 half pints.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get any pictures…can we say BOOOOOOO!!!!But I got compliments so I would say that is plenty enough to continue to use the recipe.

P.S. I also gave my pastor’s a Pumpkin Spice Rice Crispie treats.
