Tonight we had the honor of hosting a gathering for some pretty special people.
I didn’t get any pictures of the food because I was so busy all day and by the time I got to sit down I did NOT want to get up to photograph anything. I just wanted to sit down! I made raspberry chipotleque meatballs, caprese skewers and buffalo chicken dip.
The whole purpose of it all was to celebrate a proposal!
Our friends, Carey & Patty, got engaged!
I love proposals, engagements, and weddings. I think because when I look back at that time in my own life, I remember the people who loved me most doing amazing things for my husband and I because they loved us so much. I am more grateful for that time than anyone knows. My church family and friends did so much for us. From our engagement soirĂ©e after my hubby said “I love you” for the first time to our co-ed renaissance bridal shower that our amazing bridal party threw for us to our engagement photos that were a gift from a photographer friend. God really showed us what sacrificial love and what laying your life down for your friends looks like through them. I didn’t realize it then, but I have come to realize it in the past five years and I am so grateful for those times.
We are super excited for Carey and Patty, and the plans that God has for their future together. Let all the festivities begin!
Carey & Patty, we love you both so much and we pray that during your engagement you will experience God’s love in ways that you could never imagine!
