From California

Last week I received a text message from a friend in California stating something was on it’s way to me.

I got excited because I absolutely LOVE getting stuff in the mail! Especially when it’s a surprise.

When I got home, there was a package at the door for me. It made me laugh because it said, “Happy Super Late Birthday” and “Happy early Christmas!!!” all over it.

I got a very thoughtful package from my friend Bri. She told me that she had sent a mish mash of things and she really wasn’t kidding but I love this box of stuff. I feel like I got a “Foodie Penpal” box!

I already tried the honey because some of it had spilled in the ziploc it was in and omfoodiegoodness! I can’t wait to use it on chicken or fish. I may even brush it on top of some homemade bread.

I’ve never had klatch coffee, or Christmas chutney and I’ve never made scones before so you can see why I’m excited! Lavender is one of my favorite herbs to bake with and lavender cookies sound delightful. I can already taste them!

The sugar is going to be awesome for a cookie idea that I have had for some time now and the peppermint stirrers will be great with my throat coat tea! As for that candy, I’ve never had it either. I’m willing to try it and make it last a really long time, MAYBE I’ll share with The Mister. MAYBE but the box did only have MY name on it:)

Bri, Thank you so much for the sweet and thoughtful gifts. I’m grateful for your friendship (and not just because you sent me a package) We will see you soon as there’s a wedding that will be happening here soon! Love you and the kiddos mucho!

  1. I’m so glad you loved it. I have been collecting things for a while and was trying to get just the right grouping together, but then I would find something else and think “Oh my goodness Leslie would love this”! And I’m so glad I put the honey in a ziploc bag!

    1. Bri, I love it all! I can’t wait to bake the scones and cookies! I was so glad to see that you put the chutney and honey in ziplocs. You want to talk about a mess if you hadn’t. Love you!
