Try It Out Thursday : Project Spray Paint

Try it Out Thursday

Try It Out Thursday is dedicated to recipes, products or ideas that I find on Pinterest or receive in my e-mail. I tend to “pin” and save a lot of recipes and craft ideas and never try them so I decided that this will help me wade through the many pins and e-mails that I have.

For this Try it Out Thursday I decided to do some work on some projects I had waiting for me in the garage.

A couple of weeks ago I went to a church rummage sale and found this really awesome storage wicker basket. It cost me $15.  It is very sturdy and will work as great storage for my dogs toys as well as an extra seat in my living room.

I, however, was not excited about it being so pink!

On the same day, I also went to Target and found some really cool wall art. In my new home, we have a lot of wall space so I’ve been looking for things to put up on the walls. I found this but again was not excited about the color. It’s wood and sturdy and is going to look so pretty on my walls in it’s NEW color!!

I bought two of them and they were originally priced at $39.99 but I got them each for $17.34. Two for the price of one EXCITES me!

So, I made my way to Lowe’s and knew that spray paint would work for both of these projects. Knowing that my pink basket was indeed pink also made me aware that i was going to need something with a primer already in it or I would be spray painting for a long time.

I opted for a Paint & Primer by Valspar, satin finish, in Leather Chair.

It’s probably the BEST spray paint that I have EVER used. It didn’t drip, it dried quickly and wasn’t sticky after drying and it did not end up all over my hands when I was spraying it from the can. LOVE IT!

Here is the finished product for the wicker storage basket.

Now, as soon as these are on the wall I’ll post up a picture so you all can see!

Have a great weekend!
